Yeti 575 Buildout

Step 3: Wheels

Wheel Wheel in Stand

Our wheels were assembled by a local expert with a fine reputation for wheelbuilding. This individual had done wheels for us before which have remained true under two years of back-to-back beatings. We used Chris King ISO Hubs and DT Swiss XR4.2d rims with standard DT Swiss spokes. We chose the King ISO Hubs because we have had such good luck with their Headsets. This particular Chris King ISO rear hub features an internal rear drive mechanism with three times the number of engagement teeth for instant response time when force is applied to the drivetrain. All we had to do was install the tubes, tires and brake rotors onto the front and back wheels as well as the rear cassette. It is important to torque the six rotor bolts and the Cassette lockring to the proper specifications given by the manufacturer. We stuck the wheels in our truing stand periodically to make sure they remained true after each step.
